Sick…sick…sick… It’s so very, very hard to be sick ourselves, but when the little ones are sick it’s so much worse, especially when they can’t talk to you about it. It's a double whammy when you are sick at the same time as your kids and have to care for them too. I remember a lot of ear infections with Lily’s Mom, Whitney. She had so many when she was little that eventually, the only way I could tell it was another one, was she would stop eating well. It was so sad! As an adult I know how bad that hurts too! We had moved to Oregon from California and had to start all over again with a new pediatrician documenting the situation. She never got tubes in her ears and just suffered through the infections for a few years. My grandson Landon got tubes after just a few ear infections as a baby, and he has been good with his ears since those fell out on their own.
It seems like so many things have changed regarding what to do with sick kids and how they get treated by pediatricians when they are ill. AND, there also seems to be so much more icky stuff going around to have to worry about. Hand, foot and mouth, what? I briefly heard of that when my kids were small, they never got it… Now it’s almost a given, every kid I know probably has had it. It’s terrible! Someone definitely needs to figure out how to prevent this other than washing hands, because we all got that one down.
