Bliss Studio Update
I haven’t said a whole lot about Bliss verses this virus situation. I know we have talked about my family and feelings towards it in previous posts but not necessarily where the business stands. I am also super tired of all the emails about COVID (no offense) but for a while there it was just TOO MUCH and I didn’t want to add to it.
This entire thing is a hard one for me. Spring time typically kicks off my busy season. Its when the weather starts getting better and I am stoked to start shooting again. I look forward to filling up the calendar with shoots with my awesome clients and working on creative ideas for the summer months.
I know there are photographers who are coming up with their own unique ways to navigate these difficult circumstances. I am thankful that I am not in a position to need to do that as of now. I don’t want to compromise who I am as an artist to try and “make something work”. The term “Social Distancing” is so far from what I represent and who I am, that I can not book a shoot using those words. I specialize in relationships and most importantly, kids. I can not embrace my job fully “at a distance”. Please understand, I judge no one that has had a shoot recently, OR is the photographer who is trying to make ends meet.
For me and my business, I am taking it day by day. Trying not to stress too much. Trying to keep my family sane (note: TRYING). I miss taking photos like crazy and have been pulling out my own camera to take photos of my kids and family (if you missed the most recent photo challenge please click HERE). I REALLY hope to be back full speed this summer but honestly, until I can see smiles without masks and hug my beautiful Bliss kids, I will wait until we have a green light. I want everyone to be safe and I want you to have a happy experience during your sessions with me. I want to feel love and creativity while I shoot rather than a sadness I can’t shrug off. We will get there. It may take a little time but I know this will eventually turn around and then we can pick up where we left off and move forward.
I am really trying to focus dedicated time and energy on Bliss and a little catch up on things I have let slide. If this virus has taught me anything it’s to slow down and really focus on those things you enjoy. I have lots of blog posts queued up for my dedicated readers including a series highlighting and supporting some of my favorite local businesses.
I will keep you guys updated as I can. I know there are several of you waiting to book a session or re-book a canceled one. I have not and will not forget about you. Keep an eye on the blog and/or facebook page and when we are back in business I will let you guys know!
Until then, I pray that you all stay safe and healthy! I miss you guys and look forward to reuniting HOPEFULLY later this summer!
